L TyrosineAn Effective Fat Burner & AntiDepressantElevated levels of norepinephrine and dopamine are associated with antidepressant effects. Additionally, l tyrosine is a precursor for the manufacture of the thyroid hormones thyroxine and triiodothyronine, and the pigment melanin. Thyroxine has been found to increase the body’s metabolic rate and also control growth. L tyrosine can aide in optimizing thyroid hormone levels, mood control, concentration, and productivity. It is used to treat conditions including depression or mood disorder, poor coping ability, fatigue, low libido and low metabolism.
It can also improve endurance under stress and is effective as an appetite suppressant. It can increase and regulate thyroid output, increase metabolism and help burn fat, aiding dieters in losing excess weight. It is frequently found in fat burner supplements. This amino acid is found in proteins of all life forms. Dietary sources are principally derived from animal and vegetable proteins. Vegetables and juices as well as fermented foods, such as yogurt and miso, contain small amounts of it. There have been a few research studies of l tyrosine and the results have been mixed. Some have supported the claim that it acts as an antidepressant, while a larger study found no such result. In a study of the effectiveness of the amino acid on stress, l tyrosine was reported to significantly decrease adverse symptoms, including mood and performance impairment. This supplement should not be taken if you are using MAO inhibitors. Otherwise it seems to have little adverse effects. Recommended dosage is 500 – 1500 mg per day.
