Russian Threadlift Face LiftHow Long Does a Threadlift Face Lift Last?
Aloima The Russian Threadlift procedure was only developed in 1999 and has been followed by slight procedural variations known as Aptos Threads and Feather Lift. They all employ barbed polypropylene sutures inserted from above the brows and/or cheek pads. Some surgeons use a curved needle. Others insert through tiny incisions. Once inserted, the threads are pulled up and secured, giving a noticeable lift to the face. These procedures are recommended before facial sagging is too pronounced. Then only a full face lift will achieve satisfactory results. Is it permanent? No, nothing is permanent. Time overtakes even a full face lift eventually. Is it long-lasting? Yes. Some surgeons say three to five years. Others say five to eight.
Several advantages of these procedures are: no general anesthesia; no or minimal scarring; relatively short down time (five to seven days of rest while swelling subsides and the body works to incorporate the sutures). Be sure to ask your surgeon a lot of questions. Why does s/he employ one technique rather then the others? How many of these procedures has s/he done? What are the latest advances in technique or materials? Have any patients had complications? Have any returned to be redone and, if yes, after how many years? Most surgeons will be happy to show you before and after photos of their work. Read more about the Russian Threads procedure.
