Skin Care at 53
Fighting Wrinkles
I am 53 and trying to come up with a complete skin care regime.
I get so confused reading everything.
I am currently using LifeCell and like it because that's all you have to use, but am not sure it's doing what I need.
Should I use something in addition, or should I switch?
My concerns are wrinkles and sagging. What would you recommend for a total face/neck program including peels, etc.?
Janet
I can certainly understand your confusion. That's precisely why I started my Ageless-Beauty website.
I was wading through all of the marketing hype and research data myself, which I enjoy doing, but I thought, "What about all the beauty product consumers who don't enjoy it or don't know where to begin?"
You can find my thoughts on Life Cell here.
I just sent an answer to another reader about designing her own anti-aging skincare regime which you should find helpful.
The only part of your question not addressed in my response to Carol is about "peels, etc."
As for medical procedures like peels, laser resurfacing, injectable fillers or RF treatments, I'd do my homework first and then consult with my dermatologist.
Make sure you find a dermatologist you are comfortable with.
I love my dermatologist. She is an artist as much as a well-qualified physician.
She spends a good deal of time looking at my face, having me speak and grimace, etc. to see where the lines of expression form before recommending any treatment.
I hope this helps answer your very broad question (which reminded me of the classic essay question, "Relate the history of the world in 50 words or less." ;-).
If you have more specific questions, please write again.
