I am interested in knowing if you've heard about a new radio frequency skin rejuvenation hand held device for personal use.

There is such a device by Ultragen Ltd. now available for consumers in both England and France which apparently works very well.

Is there a similar beauty device available for North American consumers and, if not yet, will we be able to purchase one in the near future?

In short, no and maybe.

Ultragen developed and holds the patent for the new improved radio frequency technology, so there are no similar devices you can buy.

The company currently ships to a few North American areas, for example Mexico and many of the Caribbean islands.

International buyers need to be aware they will be liable for any customs duties. There is hope that the Ultragen products will soon be approved for sale in the U.S.

The TriPollar™ radio frequency (RF) technology developed by Dr. Zion Azar, Chairman of Ultragen, is a truly exciting anti-aging breakthrough. Regulatory Approvals

The TriPollar devices have been approved according to all safety and efficacy European Union directives and carry the CE mark.

The CE mark is a mandatory mark for many products sold in the European Free Trade Association, as well as the 28 countries of the European Union (EU).

The CE mark is often referred to as the "Trade Passport to Europe" for non-EU products.

TriPollar currently ships to ALL countries EXCEPT: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Greece, Iran, Israel, Japan, N. Korea, Lebanon, New Zealand, Portugal, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Taiwan, and the United States.

The professional TriPollar treatment appliances (apollo™ and regen™) and the home-use STOP™ version have several applications pending with the U.S. FDA which would allow their sale in the United States.

I've been in touch with Dr. Zion Azar regarding FDA approval and he is hopeful of some positive news by the end of June 2009.

FDA approval is a lengthy and time-consuming process; but Ultragen is confidant of the safety and efficacy of its Tripollar technology. It should only be a matter of time.

Breakthrough Technology with Real Results

The sleek and stylish hand held STOP wand for home use retails for about 300 euros.

Sister companies, Pollogen and Ultragen, market the professional and home use versions respectively.

The STOP wand was launched in the UK September 2008 and shortly thereafter in France.

TriPollar is considered the third generation of radio frequency technology for skin rejuvenation and body sculpting.

Where earlier such devices used one or two poles to deliver beams of RF energy, TriPollar uses three or more.

The more poles utilized, the less electrical current required to deliver the energy to subdermal collagen, fibroblast and (in the case of a device for body sculpting) fat layers.

The lower current required for clinical results with the TriPollar technology has many advantages.

The treatment area is better defined and controlled. Less heat is generated, so there in less risk of burn or skin damage and no cooling spray is required to protect the skin.

There is no sensation of electrical shock - no pain - only a warming sensation.

In a six-week clinical study in early 2008, 23 women aged 37 to 64 used the STOP wand 2 to 3 times a week and were then evaluated using an objective 3D imaging wrinkle depth analysis (Fitzpatrick Wrinkle Classification System).

Following the six-week treatment regime there was an average 35% improvement in eye area wrinkles and a 40% improvement in wrinkles around the mouth.

The most significant improvement achieved was a 67% reduction of wrinkles in one patient.

All patients reported an improvement in skin smoothness and reduction in pore size.
