Resveratrol
Hope or Hype?
Hi Jean,
I've been a long time subscriber and I follow your recommendations because of the solid advice that accompanies the product suggestions.
I want to purchase the Resveratrol product recommended by Dr. Oz who is frequently featured on Oprah Winfrey's shows. I don't know who manufactures it or whether you think it is just a waste of money.
I have checked Oprah's site and found it lacking (likely a hedge against litigation) in information.
Please let me know.
Sincerely,
Paula
I am in the process of analyzing the research reports on Resveratrol. While compiling it, my scam antennae snapped to attention and stayed on high alert.
So before even completing my analysis of Resveratrol, the supplement, I want to issue a warning to my readers regarding Resveratrol, the sales hype.
If you haven't already, please read my article on Auto-Ship Policies. I found many auto-ship sites hawking Resveratrol and making it sound like the Fountain of Youth and cure for all your ills. I have a few observations on such sites in general.
It's curious to me when Resveratrol is the only product they sell.
Many have press reports regarding Resveratrol from legitimate media like CNN or Fox News prominently displayed on the sales sites.
The Resveratrol information from these sources may be factual but says nothing about the product being pushed at you. The press reports on Resveratrol are not endorsements of any particular brand of Resveratrol supplement.
The 60 Minutes video with Morley Safer interviewing Dr. Cristoph Westphal which many of these sites display is real, as is the Oprah chat with Dr. Mehmet Oz; but the free trial offer for a Resveratrol supplement pill which appears on screen has nothing to do with the interview.
It's an ad which has been superimposed on the video. I'm amazed that 60 Minutes and Oprah have not taken steps to stop this practice.
Before you order Resveratrol from any of these sources, read the terms down to the smallest print.
You can also check the company or brand name at the consumer advocacy website, The Ripoff Report.
