Perricone Advanced Eye Therapy ReviewHelp for Signs of Aging around the EyesPerricone Advanced Eye Area Therapy addresses multiple signs of aging in the eye area. Perricone Advanced Eye Area Therapy is a fairly new formula in Dr. Perricone’s line. I found it while searching for an eye cream to address multiple signs of aging which develop around the eyes. We’re talking crow’s feet, sagging and bagging, puffiness, discoloration and dark circles – one product that does it all. Very high on the ingredient list of Perricone Advanced Eye Area Therapy is Vitamin C Ester (Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate), a potent antioxidant and the only form of Vitamin C you should put on your skin. A bit further down the list is Alpha Lipoic Acid (Thioctic Acid), a universal antioxidant (meaning that it is effective in both the oil and water-based segments of cells). Still further down is the antioxidant DMAE. I mention these three antioxidants together since they have been shown to have synergistic effects, each helping the other be more effective.
This troika of antioxidants pulls a heavy load by: protecting cells from free radical and UV damage; firming, toning and restoring elasticity; diminishing fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone and discoloration; refining skin texture and pore size; and reducing puffiness. Niacinamide is a nice inclusion in this formula since it has been shown to promote exfoliation and improve skin texture, fine lines, wrinkles and hydration. Two studies have also indicated that Niacinamide inhibits the irregular production of melanin. Finally, Niacinamide is non-irritating and perfectly safe to use close to the eye. Perricone Advanced Eye Area Therapy also includes Licorice Root Extract (Glycyrrhetinic Acid), an anti-inflammatory skin clarifier, and several other soothing ingredients. I only wish Dr. Perricone had included some peptides in this formula as he does in his Neuropeptide Eye Contour. Eye Contour contains Dipeptide-2 Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 and Palmitoyl Oligopeptide but only two of the antioxidant troika (ALA and DMAE).
