Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream

Tops the Good Housekeeping List

I picked up a jar of Olay Regenerist Micro-sculpting Cream after reading in Good Housekeeping magazine that it topped the list of anti-aging creams they tested, even the $350 one!

Upon checking the list of ingredients, I was pleased to see that Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 is in the top quarter – indicating that the anti-aging peptide is highly concentrated.

In fact, The Olay ads for this new cream say, "this luxurious cream has the highest concentration of our signature amino-peptide complex infused with intracellular fortifier and a touch of precious marine proteins."

My guess is that the "intracellular fortifier" referred to is Soluble Collagen combined with Sodium Hyaluronate (a.k.a. Hyaluronic Acid), the most powerful skin moisturizer known.

One of the first articles I ever wrote for Ageless Beauty explains how important moisturizers are to an anti-aging skin care regimen because "Moisturizers don’t just make dry skin feel nicer. They provide a temporary support system to fill in for lost collagen and elastin, as well as help to repair the skin’s own moisture retention capacity. Also, keeping the skin plumped with moisture slows the progression and deepening of wrinkles."

Olay further explains, "Intracellular hydration regenerates volume and shape across the skin's 10 million surface cells, progressively lifting and micro-sculpting to help:

• Firm sagging-prone areas, even the jaw line
• Smooth skin's surface
• Restore elasticity."

I was also pleased to see that Olay Regenerist Micro-sculpting Cream has a high concentration of the cell-communicating ingredient niacinamide.

Niacinamide helps the skin retain moisture better than Vaseline – without the greasy feel – by increasing the skin’s level of ceramides and fatty acids. Niacinamide is fourth on the list of 55 ingredients.

How do I personally like it? A lot!

I love the feel of the cream and the feel of my skin after I apply it. Foundation just glides on over it and the make-up stays put.

This is a real bargain and will soon appear on my Affordable Top Ten List of anti-aging skin products.

As for the "precious marine proteins", I couldn’t find anything in the ingredient list that sounds like it comes from the sea. Could they mean the water?
