Lashes to Die For Review

Very Effective for Regrowing Eyelashes

Lashes to Die For - Before and After

Peter Thomas Roth Eyelash Enhancement Product Truly Delivers "Lashes to Die For"

The pictures speak for themselves. After three months of once daily use, our test subject's eyelashes are unquestionably lusher, longer and just - well - to die for.

Peter Thomas Roth's latest hit product Lashes to Die For contains an analog of bimatoprost, namely 17 Phenyl Trinor PGE2 SA.

Lashes to Die For

Bimatoprost is an active ingredient in two FDA-approved drugs prescribed to treat glaucoma and hypotrichosis.

Doctors and patients noted the growth of luxurious lashes as a side effect of the prescription eye drop drug, Lumigan, which had been prescribed to lower the intraocular pressure of glaucoma.

Taking note of the positive lush lash side effect, Allergan (bimatoprost's patent holder) developed Latisse for the treatment of eyelash hypotrichosis.

[ As an aside, alopecia is synonymous with hypotrichosis. Some doctors speculate that there may be other anti-alopecia applications for bimatoprost.]

For lashes like you see in the "after" picture above, you can ask your doctor for a Latisse prescription or just click to buy Lashes to Die For right now.

Though Lashes to Die For is a definite splurge at $125 (for a five-month supply), you may be surprised to learn that, ounce for ounce, it costs less than half as much as Latisse (before even factoring in the cost of the doctor visit).

Comments and Application Tips

Lashes to Die For - Before and After

Our test subject, "An" (for Anonymous) shared the following tips and comments.

I used Lashes to Die For daily for exactly three months. I'm happy with this length and fullness.

I now plan to reapply once a week to maintain the look.

This was a suggestion from a doctor friend. I estimate that I have almost half of the product left, so this tube will last a looong time.

If you look at the before and after shots of my lashes in profile, you can see that I used Lashed to Die For on both my upper and lower lashes.

The product directions only mention the upper lash line, but I figured "why not?"

Though the directions say to apply at night, I found it easier to work this into my morning routine.

I just made sure my eye area and lashes were clean and dry.

You use this just as if you were applying liquid eyeliner. Run a thin line on the skin above the upper lashes and below the lower ones.

The goal is to get the product into the lash follicles.

This product lists similar possible side effects to Lumigan, the glaucoma drug which contains bimatoprost.

If you get the drops in your eyes day after day, they may cause permanent darkening of the iris.

On the skin, they can cause long lasting (though not permanent) darkening of the skin.

I was careful to stay very close to the lashes aiming for the follicles and experienced neither side effect.

I'm delighted with my lush healthy lashes.

I had stopped curling mine years ago because they had gotten so short and fragile.

An eyelash curler did more harm than good. Now I curl my lashes lightly and put on just one coat of mascara (where three months ago, I used three coats).

I highly recommend this product. I hope Peter Thomas Roth will be able to continue selling it.

I understand the company has applied for a patent of its bimatoprost analog. However I also read that the FDA and Allergan (which holds the bimatoprost-containing Lumigan patent) seized millions of dollars of product because of patent infringement.

Please read Patents, Drugs and Cosmetics for more about this controversy.
