Green Tea Dietary Benefits
New Studies Confirm the Benefits of Green Tea Extracts
Two new studies reported this week on WebMD give further credence to the benefits of taking green tea extracts.
One study reported that mice fed green tea extracts for ten weeks, plus given strenuous exercise, swam longer and stronger than mice not taking the extract. It is believed that the mice got stronger because they were burning fat more efficiently.
The report concluded that green tea extract may be a useful tool for improving endurance capacity.
These results seem to confirm another study that found that the substances found in green tea known as catechins may trigger weight loss by stimulating the body to burn calories, thus decreasing body fat.
Catechins are already considered a powerful antioxidant ( See AntiAging Skin Care Using Green Tea), with the ability to ward off many diseases such as cancer and heart disease. It is also proven to strengthen the immune system and is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis.
Now these studies confirm that green tea extracts have the added benefit of helping us to lose weight and decrease body fat, which, of course, will further help prevent heart disease.
These two studies add more weight to the argument that green tea extracts should be a part of every diet.
Previously I have recommended Puritan's Pride Green Tea Extract. This green tea extract provides a daily dose of the essential antioxidants contained in green tea that can work on the cells and organs and provide your body with all the protection green tea can afford.
