Athena - Rejuvinol - Anew Comparison

Is There an All-in-One Skin Care Product?

I am very confused; I want a cream that is anti-aging, moisturizer, etc. all-in-one. I don't want harmful ingredients.

I was looking at Athena 7 Minute Lift. The ingredients look good, but is it also an antioxidant etc?

And how does it compare to Rejuvinol?

These seem to be rated #1. How do Athena and Rejuvinol compare to Avon Anew?

Shirley

Athena 7-Minute Lift

I looked up the ingredients for Athena 7-Minute Lift. The active anti-wrinkle ingredient is acetyl hexapeptide-3 (AH-3).

AH-3 works by interfering with the transmission of nerve signals to the facial muscles which form frowns, smiles and ultimately deep lines of expression. AH-3 is commonly called a Botox-mimicker, though the effect is far less pronounced.

You can also find AH-3 in Avon Clinical Deep Crease.

Athena 7-Minute also contains a long list of botanical oils which are both soothing and antioxidant.

The application process is a bit unusual. You brush the cream on and keep your face as motionless as possible for 7 minutes while the potion sets. The package says, "Remain expressionless for seven minutes." Easier said than done.

Users liken the tightening sensation to what you would get by painting egg whites on your face. (Remember when women used to do that?)

If you put it on too heavily, it will turn white and flake off as you move your facial muscles. You should know that the jar contains just one-half ounce, so the cost per ounce is quite high.

Athena 7-Minute Lift rates 2.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon (based on 4 user reviews).

Rejuvinol & Rejuvenox

I couldn’t find the full ingredient lists for the DermaLogic products Rejuvinol and Rejuvenox.

The company markets Rejuvenol for day and Rejuvenox for night. The ads don’t list an SPF for the day cream and, based on the advertised active ingredients, I would be inclined to switch the day and night products!

Rejuvinol for day contains Hyaluronic Acid, the most potent moisturizer available. Rejuvinox for night contains AH-3, the Botox-mimicking peptide.

Most women prefer a heavier moisturizer for night when the skin is doing its major repair work and a lighter moisturizer with SPF for day as a makeup base.

As well, most women apply AH-3 for day since it is during the day that our faces are most active – talking, smiling, frowning, squinting against the sun. Daytime is the time you want something to calm down those active facial muscles that form deep lines of expression.

Here’s a very apropos quote I found on WrinkleReview.com: “… we speculate that the Rejuvinol package, consisting of two separate products, was designed by a marketer rather than a dermatologist.”

Fortunately both creams are sold together as a set.
