Affordable State-of-the-Art Skincare

Celazome with Lyphazome nanosphere delivery system has affordable as well as splurge skincare products.

While searching for affordable skincare alternatives that compare well with more expensive brands, I came across Celazome Clinical Skin Care.

Unfortunately, not all the Celazome products can be considered affordable for most of us. However there are enough that I still thought the company is worth telling you about.

There's another reason I want to tell you about Celazome. The company has an interesting heritage in nanosphere delivery systems as well as unusual production standards for a cosmetic company.

Celazome is an offshoot of Dermazone Solutions which pioneered nanosphere topicals in the 1980s to treat burn victims and for relief of psoriasis and eczema. Dermazone's proprietary nanosphere delivery system is patented as Lyphazome and licensed to other skincare companies around the world.

Celazome manufactures all its own products using natural and pharmaceutical-grade ingredients for increased potency and effectiveness. Their manufacturing facility is licensed to produce prescription drugs and therefore must meet rigorous standards.

Of course Celazome uses Dermazone's Lyphazome delivery system in its own products. The company website says that its products contain "at least 80 percent Lyphazome nanospheres loaded with bioactives and moisture - 75 times the concentration found in other encapsulation products."

Lyphazome nanospheres are 1/50th the size of a human skin cell for penetration into all the layers of the dermis where the active ingredients are released over time.

The timed-release aspect means that Celazome products remain effective throughout the day.

Lyphazome nanospheres penetrate deeply, slowly releasing ingredients for long-lasting action, while the non-encapsulated ingredients begin releasing bioactive ingredients on the surface of the skin for immediate benefits.

Imagine a sun protection product that offers eight hours of waterproof and sweat-proof protection.

Okay, you can stop imagining. It's available now and I'll tell you more about it below.

Two Affordable Celazome Products

Celazome SPF 30 Moisturizer

Celazome Moisturizing Sunscreen with SPF 30 is the first affordable Celazome product I want to tell you about.

It is a broad spectrum sunscreen with a 30 SPF rating to shield against the sun's UVB rays. In addition it contains four UVA-absorbing ingredients in a formula quite similar to Johnson & Johnson Neutrogena's patented Helioplex.

Because of Celazome's unique Lyphazome nanosphere timed-release delivery system, a single application of Celazome Moisturizing Sunscreen lasts all day " even resisting water and perspiration. The package states "Retains SPF after 80 minutes of activity in water"!

Like all Celazome products, Celazome Moisturizing Sunscreen is non-comedogenic and very unlikely to cause irritation.

In addition, it is PABA-free and contains no artificial fragrance. I believe the very light and pleasing scent comes from the soothing Aloe Vera which it contains.

I almost forgot to mention " it moisturizes all day long as well!

Celazome Penetrating Moisturizing Body Lotion

Celazome Penetrating Moisturizing Body Lotion is the second affordable Celazome product I want to share.

This is another product which lasts all day. If you put on your regular body moisturizer in the morning and your skin feels dry by noon, this might be the moisturizer for you.

As well, if you have sensitive or itchy skin, eczema or psoriasis, redness and flaking caused by exfoliation or microdermabrasion, or if you suffer from diabetes, dry cracked heels or sunburn, this is an excellent healing formulation for you.

The formula is quite simple and non-comedogenic.

The most important ingredients are the Natural Moisturizing Factor Lecithin and pharmaceutical-grade Mineral Oil. Despite what you may have read about topical Mineral Oil, it is non-irritating, very healing and one of the most effective moisturizers available.

Baby oil is nothing more than scented Mineral Oil. Dermatologists and cosmetic chemists consider it one of the safest and most effective moisturizers known (see Cosmetics and Toiletries, February 1998 and January 2001; and Cosmetic Dermatology, February 2000),

The Celazome website says Celazome Penetrating Moisturizing Body Lotion soothes "even the driest skin as well as the leading prescribed drug".

Two Celazome Splurge Products

Celazome Eyelyph Serum is a bit pricier than the Body Lotion and 30 SPF Moisturizer; but it's a serum so a little goes a long way.

The reason I want to tell you about Eyelyph is that it is especially effective for dark eye circles, a concern I get a lot of questions about.

Eyelyph contains multiple antioxidants (stable Vitamin C, Green Tea Extract, Vitamin E, Witch Hazel), plus essential oils and a bevy of anti-inflammatory botanicals (to reduce puffiness).

It also contains my favorite moisturizer, Hyaluronic Acid, encapsulated to keep the eye area soft and moist throughout the day and temporarily plump wrinkles.

Eyelyph comes in a vacuum pump bottle to preserve the effectiveness of its ingredients.

Botanicals and certain antioxidants break down rapidly when exposed to light and air. The only thing I find missing in this eye serum is peptides to repair lines and wrinkles.

Celazome N°45 Firming Peptide Complex

Celazome N°45 Firming Peptide Complex is another of the more expensive Celazome products, but it has a 45% concentration of some very interesting peptides so I definitely wanted to take a close look at it.

If you frequent my website or blog, you know I am convinced of the anti-aging power of many cosmeceutical peptides.

This formula is almost half anti-aging peptides. The before and after photos on the Celazome site are quite impressive.

In descending order from highest concentration to lowest, the peptides are:

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Trademarked as Argireline.) - This peptide is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Effective against wrinkle development, as well as inhibiting the SNARE complex (similar to the action of injected Botox);

Palmitoyl Oligopeptide (Also known as Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 and trademarked as Matrixyl.) - An amino acid blend that increases skin elasticity and smoothness and stimulates collagen and hyaluronic acid production. Oligopeptides have been shown to help destroy free radicals that cause damage, collagen breakdown, and premature aging;

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3 - Controls the body's inflammatory response (as your own hormones did in younger days). The effect is to reverse sagging of skin caused by out-of-control inflammation (glycation damage) thereby restoring skin elasticity and lifting facial contours; and

Acetyl Tetrapeptide-9 (Trademarked as DERMICAN by Cognis.) - Clinically shown to stimulate synthesis of proteoglycans (which decrease with age) beneath the epidermis to combat skin aging.

The action of these peptides is boosted by Celazome's Lyphozome timed-release delivery system. N°45 Peptide also contains an excellent antioxidant cocktail and very good moisturizers.

Conclusion

I'm very intrigued by Celazome's Lyphazome time release nano-delivery system, as well as by the fact that they use pharmaceutical-grade ingredients compounded in their own licensed facility.
