bareMinerals Review
What Gives Color to bareMinerals Foundation?
If bareMinerals is just minerals, where's the color?
BareMinerals - I love these products. They are just minerals with no powder fillers and when applied properly (lightly) produce an even tone on the skin without it appearing that I have makeup on.
I have to mix the light and fairly light to get the right tone and it is intended that you mix to get it right.
I have wondered what the color consists of if there is nothing in the product except minerals. ????

You're correct that there are no artificial colors in bareMinerals foundation powders. In fact, the ingredient list is so short; I can count the contents on the fingers of one hand. Pretty amazing for the coverage you get.
bareMinerals Foundation by Bare Escentuals contains:
- Titanium Dioxide for brightening and broad-spectrum sun protection;
- Zinc Oxide for calming and broad-spectrum sun protection;
- Bismuth Oxychloride for a pearlescent glow;
- Mica to minimize the appearance of lines by reflecting light away; and
- Iron Oxides for color.
[ Note: For anyone new to bareMinerals makeup, I recommend you buy their Get Started Kit, which contains:
- two shades of foundation powder with SPF 15 for a perfect match (As Star mentioned, you may need to combine shades.);
- bareVitamins Skin Rev-er Upper to be applied before makeup;
- Mineral Veil for a translucent and flawless finish;
- not one but three top quality makeup brushes for perfect application; and
- a high production value DVD on how to apply bareMinerals, including some great other makeup tips as well.]
