A Problem That's Not Going Away

I hesitated long and hard before deciding to share this letter.

Some might find the language objectionable. I ultimately decided that it could be an effective wake up call because it so clearly reveals the frustration and damage perpetrated on unsuspecting consumers by sleazy auto-ship companies.

If it forewarns or helps anyone deal with these con artists, I'm glad. If it offends any readers, I apologize in advance.

i've tried calling your customer service dept. several times only to be put on hold so long, i couldn't wait anymore. this is going to be the third correspondence with you and it will be the last before i take legal action.

i signed up for your "free trial offer" crap with the "online fulfill two options and get a free blackberry" campaign, and so far, i've called and cancelled my free trial period crap with you and you took 29.95 from my account, then today i look at my account info, you took 69.99 and 7.99 out of my account again, and i have yet to receive a thing from you and i am calling authorities and go to the fraud dept. at my bank and have you investigated immediately if you do not reverse the charges on my account asap.

this is fraud, and theft out"right" stealing from me.

Whoa, Jerriann!

You've been scammed by one of the bogus auto-ship companies which I've warned my readers about for years. I'm so sorry; and I can hear how (justifiably) angry you are.

My first blog post on the subject ran October 22, 2006 and was put up on the Ageless Beauty website shortly thereafter.

Since then I've written 28 more blog posts and several more articles for the website to alert readers to auto-ship plan abuses. I'm doing my best to warn consumers.

On the other hand, I know from (painful) personal experience how circumspect I must be to avoid costly lawsuits when trying to "out" companies which are defrauding consumers.

Anyway, you need to take action to protect your bank account and credit score.

P.S. I did a search on our in-box at Ageless Beauty and found no other e-mails from your e-address. I don't ignore (legitimate) letters from my readers. In fact, I welcome them - the good, the bad and the ugly - well, not those so much ;-(

Further, we don't have a customer service department since we don't sell any products. Ageless Beauty is a free online magazine which is supported by advertising.

I don't know who you've been communicating with but clearly you are getting the run-around!
