What's New in Ageless Beauty, Issue 25 February 01, 2007 |
| Hi Our readers are really going high-tech. We had several questions this month on some of the anti-aging home appliances that are gaining popularity, like the Quasar Baby and Derma Wand; as well as several questions on high tech non-surgical medical procedures like Thermage and Quasar itself. I also read about a new treatment regime dubbed “The Beverly Hills Lift” which consists of a series of three Thermage and two laser treatments. Having undergone one Thermage treatment myself, I can’t imagine anyone having three of them in close succession! To me, it was sort of like childbirth in that you endure the pain in joyful anticipation. Immediately after, you think, “I never want to go through that again!” But over time, the painful memory fades and you see only the beautiful result. Maybe in a couple of years I could see myself doing it again. Truthfully, I’m happy with my Thermage results, but I’m hoping they will come up with some less painful way of doing it in the meantime. Be Happy!
If you find yourself being enticed to spend beyond your means to maintain or regain your youthful appearance, here’s a free verse to help you achieve a healthy perspective about your appearance. I don’t know the author so can’t credit her; but think she would be pleased to have her words of wisdom shared.
Someone will always be smarter. Their house will be bigger. They will drive a better car. Their children will do better in school. And their husband will fix more things around the house.
And love you and your circumstances.
And the richest woman you know, she's got the car, the house, the clothes... she might be lonely. The Mediterranean Style of Eating
I’ve touted the Mediterranean style of healthy eating – and its derivative, The Sonoma Diet, – for a long time. This month I did a series of blogs on the subject and am ending it with a few of the Mediterranean-style recipes which I created myself. I don’t know how long I will continue posting these recipes. It will depend on reader feedback and participation, since I have asked readers to share their favorite (health-promoting) Mediterranean-style recipes as well. If you’re looking for something new for dinner tonight, please visit my Ageless Beauty blog. Kerastase Reader Review I answered a letter from a reader about Kerastase Specifique Bain Prevention, which is formulated to fight hair loss. After testing it, she kindly repaid the favor by writing this review for us. Well, here's an early update. I have been using Kerastase Specifique Bain Prevention by L'Oreal for a few weeks now and so far I love it. I usually like to switch up my shampoos but I have been reaching for it every time (I don't usually shampoo my hair everyday, though.) I love the way it gets my hair really clean without stripping it. For weeks now my hair is softer and bouncier since it's even less dry. Now as far as it slowing my hair loss, I believe I am "shedding" a bit less, and it's winter. Today, I thought for the first time in a long time that I might actually get my hair to a longer length (just past my shoulders) without it looking too sparse. Bottom-line: I am happy and I will continue to use it and I definitely recommend it. Read the whole thread about Kerastase Specifique Bain Prevention here. Where Did All My Paragraphs Go?
If you are reading this newsletter using Micrrosoft's Internet Explorer browser, you probably think I don’t know how to paragraph. Believe me, I do! It frustrates me no end to review the newsletter after publishing using my various browsers. Month after month, I find that Internet Explorer has stripped out all the paragraph breaks. I believe this is confined to version 7.0. I have tried to correct this many times with no success. So, I apologize for the look to all of you Internet Explorer users; however the content is the same. Just try to imagine the paragraph breaks and lots of white space. OR … if it really annoys you (as it does me), try reading the newsletter using another browser like Netscape or or Opera, all of which are available for free downloads.
