What's New in Ageless Beauty - Issue 48 November 01, 2008 |
| Hi If you have any difficulty reading this newsletter, please click here. Mostly Ageless Beauty is about maintaining health and Outer Beauty as we age – being the best we can for as long as we can. In addition to covering cosmetic products and procedures to maintain a youthful appearance, I’ve written about lowering stress and changing your life for the better as part of a healthy anti-aging lifestyle. All that advice for finding inner peace stills stands. But lately I’ve been thinking about Inner Beauty as an even higher goal than inner peace. As I move through my 60s and have many friends in their 60s, 70s and 80s, I am more aware of the inevitable physical challenges that arise. I see how different people face these challenges. Some get old and crochety, crabby, difficult to be around. Others face similar challenges with grace. They smile and ask how you are doing. They’re always there for their kids and grandkids – with moral support and encouraging words if that’s all they can do. When faced with adversity, many of us think, “I didn’t realize how good I had it before”. That was certainly true for me. So this month that we in the United States celebrate Thanksgiving, I’m striving to take stock and realize how good I have it right now. I’m thankful for my dear husband of forty years, for my faith which has pulled me through the darkest times, for family and friends who have stood by me, for the beauty of nature around me and for all of you. You really can’t know how much you mean to me since I’ve never shared the story behind this website. Ageless Beauty grew out of adversity. We lost most of our retirement savings in the stock market, a robbery and other failed ventures. We needed to go back to work but, at our ages, couldn’t return to our previous careers. So we launched Ageless Beauty. It wasn’t easy, starting from scratch, doing all the work ourselves and learning as we went. So thank you, dear readers, for your continued support. Subscribers and letter writers are my favorite customers – my repeat customers. They are the driving force behind Ageless Beauty. I’ve had great tête a têtes with some of you and feel like I know you personally. God bless you, my virtual friends, and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Please read on for what’s new on Ageless Beauty this month.

Buyer Beware – Do your research before you order that exciting new anti-aging product. Here are some tips to help you. Lycopene-Rich Watermelon Salad – Get a good dose of the antioxidant lycopene along with my friend Barbara’s delicious original recipe. How to Buy Revaléskin – Another myth busted: you don’t need to see your doctor to purchase Revaléskin which contains the super-antioxidant coffeeberry. Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation – Whether your uneven skin tone is post-inflammatory or simply the result of all those years in the sun, here’s an article for you. Reader Letter of the Month: Outer Beauty at 80+ Hi Jean, I love your website and especially how you answer such specific questions for people. I would appreciate it if you could give your opinion on a few anti-aging products I have been reading about. I know nothing about what ingredients are needed or really work. I would like your help to get past the marketing hype. I am 80+ and have been blessed with good genes. I have sun damage from growing up in southern California but not a lot of wrinkles. So skin tone issues are my primary concern; then wrinkles. Which would you recommend? The products are Skincubed Age-Defying Formula, Kinerase Extreme Lift Face and RoC Retinol Correction Deep Wrinkle Night Cream. Jean, thanks for your help and for all you do for us Age Warriors. Sincerely, Jackie Read my response to Jackie including my reviews of Skincubed Age-Defying Formula, Kinerase Extreme Lift Face and RoC Retinol Correction Deep Wrinkle Night Cream. |
