Grant BIOCOLLASIS™ Review
Does This Product Have the 'Right Stuff'?
I am wondering about Elizabeth Grant Skin care, this seems to be so popular on the shopping channel.
Her new line especially with BIOCOLLASIS™.
The marketing is good, but she claims this is a remarkable line.

Yes, the Elizabeth Grant line is quite popular at present.
The company has been around for fifty years. Until recently, its claim to fame was a very popular moisturizing compound trademarked as Torricelumn. Many of the Grant skin care products contain it.
Torricelumn is a blend of antioxidants and soothing botanicals, namely Red Algae Extract, Sea Lettuce Extract, Aloe Leaf Juice Extract, Chamomile Extract and Allantoin. Nice but nothing revolutionary, but to be fair, perhaps it was revolutionary fifty years ago.
I took a look at the Biocollasis Advanced Cellular Eye Cream ingredient list and frankly, have more questions than answers.
The first ingredient is an "Aqueous Biocollasis Infusion" of "Soluble Collagen, Hydrolyzed Rice Bran Protein and Tripeptides".
If you follow my blog or visit my website, you know that I am a firm believer in the skin anti-aging power of peptides - but not just any old peptides.
I'm aware of three tripeptides that have shown skin anti-aging properties. You'll find them in my Cosmeceutical Peptide Glossary.
Are Grant's Tripeptides any of these? I really can't say. But back to Biocollasis ...
If I interpret the term infusion correctly, Biocollasis is Soluble Collagen, Hydrolyzed Rice Bran Protein and Tripeptide steeped in purified water. The resulting infused purified water is used as the first ingredient in this cream. Frankly, I would rather have the ingredients themselves to apply to my skin; not the water in which they were steeped.
Soluble Collagen is a water-binding agent which stays on the surface (i.e., it does not penetrate the skin). Hydrolyzed Rice Bran Protein is a skin or hair conditioner.
The rest of the list contains two very effective ingredients: the most powerful moisturizer known (Hyaluronic Acid) and Retinyl Palmitate (a Vitamin A derivative which exfoliates and stimulates collagen growth.
However, many skin products costing a lot less contain these ingredients. So, it is up to you to decide if there is enough value in this product to warrant its cost.
Perhaps, with a better ingredient list, we all could get a better idea of the true potential of this product.
